The Ministry of Human Resource Development in partnership with MyGov launched a “Short Essay” writing competition on three themes- Gratitude is Great, Your future depends on your Aspirations and Examining Exams for students of classes 9 to 12 for the third edition of Prime Minister’s interaction programme with school students “Pariksha Pe Charcha”
58 students had taken part in the online Essay Writing Competition. They received a Participation Certificate after uploading their Essay and questions to be asked to The Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi using MyGov portal.
Sanchita Dubey of class X got selected and was invited to attend the Live session of Pariksha Pe Charcha to be held at Delhi on 20 January 2020.
SOF National Science Olympiad was conducted on 11-11-2019 in the school premises for students of classes V-X in which 167 students participated. The result for the same was declared on 27-12-2019 and the students brought laurels to the School by winning medals in various levels. Students bagged 10 gold medals, 9 silver medals and 9 bronze medals & 7 medals of distinction. Medals were distributed to students by Sr. Cynthia and Principal Sr. Hema on 25.01.2020.
On 2 November 2019 Hindi Quiz Competition (Branch Level Competition )of ‘Bharat Ko Jano’ by Bharat Vikas Parishad was held at Govt. Girls High School Gandhi Nagar, Jammu. The students made us proud as they stood First in Junior group and received the Consolation Prize in Senior group.
The awards for the CBCI Education Master Mind Quiz Programme 2018-19 organized by the Catholic Bishop Conference of India were announced on 16th Aug, 2019.Shubneek Kaur (IX D),Harmehar Kaur (VII B) and Sogandhi (X A) won merit certificates and cash awards of Rs. 1500,1000 and 1000 respectively.
District Youth Services and sports, organized Summer school Olympiad, “Sports for Peace and Development” under centrally sponsored scheme Khelo India on 29.05.2019 at G.G.M Science College. In which football team of our school have participated and brought laurels to the school by securing 3rd Place.

Second level of SOF National Science Olympiad was conducted on 10-02-2019 for the students who qualified Ist level at the May Fair School. The result for the same was declared on 16-03-2019 and the students brought laurels to the School by winning various prizes. Aadya Singh (Class III B) won gifts worth Rs. 1000, Vridhi Mahajan (Class VI) won cash award of Rs. 2500+ Zonal Silver Medal and Dishika Mahajan (Class X B) won gifts worth Rs. 1000.
An Inter-School Quiz Competition ‘Bharat Ko Jano’ was held at Govt. Girls High School Gandhi Nagar, Jammu on 15 Nov, 2018. The event was sponsored by ‘Bharat Vikas Parishad’.
At the mega event 36 students from six schools of the city participated in the competition. Students were divided into two categories i.e Junior category and Senior category. Before starting the quiz the teacher explained rules of Inter-school Quiz Competition. The Quiz was divided into four rounds. Every round was a mixed bag with questions from geography history, mythology, sports and language. All the students were very active and enthusiastic. The Quiz was truly a learning experience for both the audience and the participants. In this competition Presentation Convent Sr. Sec. School Gandhi Nagar bagged second position in junior category and third position in senior category. The first three winning teams of each standard were felicitated. They were awarded with certificates and trophies.
The programme ended with the National Anthem.
NHPC state level Painting Competition was held at Brig. Rajinder singh Auditorium, University of Jammu on 14 November 2018. In which Arushi Gupta of class 6 C secured first prize, in poster making completion on the topic “Save Energy” Divyanoor sharma of Class 6 C got consolation prize of Rs.7000 and Sanchita Soodan of class 9 C got Rs.2000 cash prize.
